The Languages institute “Bernardo de Lugo, O.P.” is pleased to invite you to participate in its first national EFL and ELT USTA Tunja Congress, presenting proposals related to research studies, workshops or posters in English. This event is going to be held on April 4th 2018 at Santo Tomás University in Tunja.

This academic congress brings opportunities to reflect about the current EFL and ELT practices of the Colombian schools and universities to English teachers, department directors, students, and in general, active participants of the academic community. Besides, participants create academic spaces to share about meaningful experiences in the field of teaching and learning English.

Issues

We invite students, teachers, researchers and academic community to participate with your proposals about the following topics:

Bilingualism as an educational trend: This line of research deals with implications and trends of bilingual education in Colombia or foreign contexts, bearing in mind entire subjects, bilingual classes and the way in which curriculum is connected through elementary, intermediate and advance level of English.

Virtually and technology in teaching and learning English: This line of research is based on the new learning and teaching methodologies which have been implemented by English teachers as tools to complement face to face classes.

Meaningful pedagogical practices in the teachers of foreign languages work in the globalized world: This line of research is proposed to socialize pedagogical research practices that evidence the teachers’ classroom experiences and procedures according to the context as well as the national and international trends.

Literature, culture and problem solving as interdisciplinary factors: This line of research deals with the inclusion of literature as an interdisciplinary factor in English teaching as a way to explore people’s culture, behavior, experiences, and problems.
